• Single Door Refrigerators recommended for families having budget under Rs 10000. But its always recommended to invest in Double door refrigerators.

Double door Refrigerators:

 

• In Double door refrigerator, you have two distinct compartments having individual doors.

• The freezer box is independent of the main refrigeration unit. Such refrigerators prevent the formation of frost and hence known as ‘Frost Free refrigerators’. 

• There is a separate heating element that prevents the formation of frost.

• These fridges are very popular since last 10 years. Available in capacities over 240 litres, they can cater to various requirements. 

• Naturally, they consume more electricity than the single door models. However, the efficiency levels are greater.

1. Conversion facility
This feature allows you to convert the freezer into a fridge and vice versa depending on your usage. 
The main advantage of this facility is that it can increase the storage capacity of the refrigerator.

2. Inverter technology
It works on the simple principle of optimizing the power of the compressor unit.

In the normal refrigerator, the compressor alternates between the on and off position at regular intervals. This can consume a higher amount of electricity because the compressor works at a single speed.

The inverter technology allows the compressor to work consistently at different speeds and deliver the necessary output depending on the cooling load.
At stable temperatures, the electricity saving is definitely more in the range of 20 to 40%.

3. Overcome power cuts
There is a new technology available today that enables the refrigerators to keep the contents cool and fresh even during the power cuts. 
These refrigerators can maintain the freshness for a period ranging from 2 to 7 hours during a power cut. Of course, the price is on the higher side.

4. Environmentally friendly refrigerators
The most common refrigerant in use is CFC. However, this refrigerant is not environmentally friendly.
